Morning: Riomaggiore & Vernazza
Meet your private guide at the cruise terminal in La Spezia and walk together to the train station.
Board a local train to Riomaggiore, where the tour begins with a gentle walk along a paved panoramic path connecting the modern and historic parts of the village.
From here, enjoy beautiful views over the coastline, the harbor, and the area of the famous Via dell’Amore, before walking downhill through the main street toward the marina. Free time is available to explore or take photos.
Continue by train to Vernazza, often called the pearl of the Cinque Terre. Your guide will lead you through quiet backstreets that reveal the village’s unique atmosphere, then up to one of the best viewpoints overlooking the harbor.
Midday: Monterosso & Free Time
Travel by train to Monterosso, the largest of the Cinque Terre villages and the only one with a sandy beach.
Here, your guide will introduce you to the historic old town, walking through shaded alleys and visiting a small oratory decorated with intriguing sculptures.
Enjoy free time for lunch at a local restaurant or, if you prefer, relax by the sea and enjoy the beach.
Optional Extension: Portovenere by Ferry
In the afternoon, you may choose to extend your shore excursion to Portovenere by public ferry.
Founded by the Genoese in the 12th century, Portovenere offers a different perspective on Ligurian history and architecture. Walk through the village to St. Peter’s Church, dramatically set on the cliffs, and admire sweeping views over the Cinque Terre coastline. Don’t miss the impressive Palazzata overlooking the harbor.
After free time, return by ferry to La Spezia and walk back to the cruise terminal.
