A Scenic Hiking Itinerary Through the Villages
Meet your local guide in La Spezia and take the train to Vernazza, often called the gem of the Cinque Terre.
After a guided walk through the village, begin the hike by climbing the stone steps leading above Vernazza, where the trail toward Corniglia starts.
Vernazza to Corniglia Trail
This section of the hike lasts about 1.5 hours and follows one of the most beautiful trails in the Cinque Terre.
Along the way, you’ll enjoy:
breathtaking coastal views
lush Mediterranean vegetation
peaceful stretches far from the crowds
Upon arrival in Corniglia, take a short break to relax and explore the village before continuing the hike.
Corniglia to Volastra: Vineyards & Olive Groves
The next stretch leads uphill toward Volastra, a small settlement surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
Once in Volastra, enjoy a light snack lunch featuring local products such as:
vegetable tarts
cheese and olives
focaccia
and, if you wish, a glass of local wine
After exploring the village with your guide, you can choose how to continue.
Optional Extension to Manarola
From Volastra, you may:
continue hiking downhill for about 1.5 hours to Manarola,
or take the local bus for a more relaxed option.
Once in Manarola, walk along the upper paths surrounding the village and descend toward the marina.
A perfect way to end the day is with a homemade gelato by the sea.
Multi-Day Trekking: Cinque Terre to Portofino
Multi-day trekking between Cinque Terre and the Portofino Natural Park is a true adventure along Liguria’s wildest coastline.
